This is after the fall.

Walking down Spring you catch a glimpse of your reflection - you laugh. You think you hear a nightclub somewhere in the distance, it's deep bass pounding, pounding, pounding.
"Endymion..."
Feel the music drip down your body, an IV, a deep cream
"...Endymion..."
Your skin falls off in sheets & pools around your ankles like a ball gown limp with desire
"...Endymion..."
This sweet collapse is butter flavored and it just might last forever.

Isabel Legate (B. 1992) received her BFA from Cooper Union. She lives and works in New York.
